As we reach the end of this half term, Year 5 have been reflecting on all the exciting learning and experiences we have shared since the start of the school year. One of the highlights was our science trip to We The Curious, where we explored a range of fascinating interactive exhibits and enjoyed an incredible planetarium show. The visit linked perfectly to our science topic on space and helped us deepen our understanding of the planets, stars and the wider universe.

In maths, we have been working hard on place value as well as learning about multiples and factors. The children have shown great determination and enthusiasm, and it has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they tackle increasingly challenging concepts. They have impressed us with their resilience and positive attitudes towards learning.

Our English lessons have sparked lots of creativity this term. The children designed their own mythical creatures and have been writing explanation texts to describe them. From magical beasts to mysterious guardians, their ideas have been imaginative and inventive, and they have worked hard to develop their writing skills while bringing their creations to life.

In geography, we have been learning about the history of Street and exploring our local area. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Clarks Museum, where they discovered how the town has changed over time. A walk around Street gave them the opportunity to spot historical buildings and make real-life connections to their classroom learning.

It has been a fantastic start to Year 5, and we are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved so far.
