What a busy first term we have had in Year One.
Thank you to all the parents who attended our Meet the Team evening and who attended their parents evening slot, we know how precious evenings are so do appreciate you giving up your time.
In Maths, we have been busy looking at numbers to 10 – locating them on a number line, learning about 1 more and 1 less, ordinal numbers and adding two numbers together.
In English, we have focused on a book called You choose which ahs some excellent pictures in it to support us with writing simple sentences. We are recognising how important it is to have finger spaces, capital letters and full stops in every sentence we write. We have also began trying to include adjectives and the conjunction “and” on some occasions. We are also working daily on our handwriting, we must be able to form all of our letters correctly.
Our afternoons have been busy learning about our body and our senses in Science, the weather and the seasons in Geography and the creation story in RE.
Have a lovely half term and we will see you back on Tuesday 3rd November.
