Nursery and Pre-School

Welcome to a day in the life of the Nursery and Pre-School Team (3-4 years)

We take advantage of the children’s ever growing knowledge to prepare them for their next adventure in school. We continue to ignite children’s natural curiosity within a secure, fun and stimulating environment. The children enjoy a wealth of experiences, further enhancing their communication and language skills across all areas of learning. We look to inspire imaginations and create capable learners, nurturing self-confidence and independence without any sense of pressure or competition.

As the children move closer to the next step of their learning journey, some of our children are ready for a more focused approach to their development. Imaginative play continues to encourage inventiveness and response to their own stories, interests and life experiences and there is access to activities which encourage communication and literacy such as reading stories and poems, linking sounds and letters, reciting and creating songs and rhymes, recognition of their names, and letters and words. There are opportunities for numeric and problem solving games, mark making, counting, sorting and mathematical language.

Children have access to an inspiring environment using both the Nursery and wider Academy outdoor setting and their indoor setting to develop the skills and knowledge they need to become successful in their next stage of learning.

This is a general guide to our daily routine, it is however dependent on each individual child’s needs and therefore can be flexible.
