World Book Day in Moles & Otters

Office UserYear 2, Uncategorised, Moles, Otters

What a wonderful day we have had! Everyone looked fantastic and all the potato character creations were truly amazing! A massive thank you to everyone at home who made today possible for these children. We have enjoyed many stories around the school – Can you tell someone at home which stories you listened to?

In Maths, we have been looking at length and width, measuring in centimetres and metres. We are very good at knowing which unit we would use to measure a variety of different objects and have successfully compared and ordered measurements as well.

In English, we met Kevin. He is a yellow monster with pink spots and is the invisible friend of Sid. They both get up to incredible mischief and love causing chaos in each other’s worlds but when it all goes wrong, apologies need to be made. We have produced some super writing!

We finished our unit by creating our very own imaginary friends, thinking carefully over the correct shape, colour, size and what they did to help or protect us.

Our DT/Art project of Puppets has begun. This is a long process but all children have been brilliantly imaginative with their creations – watch this space for a new update!

In Computing, we have been looking at data. We can now competently create tally charts and tell you which one has more or less. We are using a programme called J2e to create our very own pictograms and answer questions based on the data we can see.

We are lucky enough to be partaking in forest school this half term and are thoroughly enjoying our mini adventures once a week.

Don’t forget you are invited into class next Friday at 2.45pm to share our work with us.
