What a busy start we have had to Year 2 already! The children have settled in brilliantly and are already making great progress with their learning and independence.
In Maths, we are working on place value and learning how to split a 2-digit number into tens and ones, so knowing that 45 = 40 + 5. We have also been looking at number lines and are about to go on to comparing objects and numbers.
In English, we have been looking at the book The Smartest Giant in Town and have been using adjectives, nouns and verbs to make our descriptive writing even more exciting! Can you tell your grown up what an expanded noun phrase is?
In Science, we are learning about things that are living, dead and never been alive and next week we will be exploring outdoors to see what things we can find that fit into these categories.
In Geography, we have been learning about the continents and oceans. Can you tell your grown up which continent is the biggest? The hottest? The smallest?
