Welcome to year 3! We have had a lovely start to the Autumn term and have got straight into our learning.

Maths

In maths we have been learning all about 3-digit numbers and their place value. We made 3-digit numbers using dienes blocks and counters and spoke about the hundreds, tens and ones in each number!

Science

In science we have been learning all about the skeleton. We started by recapping our previous knowledge, this involved drawing around each other and labelling all the body parts. We moved onto classifying animals into vertebrates and invertebrates. After this we made our own versions of a spine to understand how the spinal cord is protected. We then moved on to exploring and investigating the inner and outer bones to understand strength.

Computing

In computing we have been learning about digital technology and how it can be grouped into different uses. The classes have been looking at how all digital devices input and output data.

Art

In art we have been learning about the work of Freida Kahlo. The classes have explored bold patterns, colour and how to draw a self portrait. We have drawn pictures of Freida Kahlo.
