This term in Year 4 has been full of exciting learning and creativity across the curriculum.
In science, the children have been investigating sound. They explored how sound can be made quieter through soundproofing and learned how pitch and volume change. They tested tissue paper, sponges, tinsel etc. to see what the best soundproofing material is. They noticed that sound waves change depending on the pitch and volume of the sound.
In computing, we have been learning about animation by creating our own stop-motion films. The children planned their animations, captured sequences of images and used technology creatively to bring their ideas to life.
In art, we explored Pop Art and created bold, colourful self-portraits. The children experimented with bright colours, patterns and repeated images, producing confident and eye-catching artwork we have now displayed in our classrooms.
The final week of term has been filled with festive activities, including seasonal crafts and writing, and the children have enjoyed celebrating the lead-up to Christmas together. We hope you have enjoyed hearing all the songs at home too!
Thank you for your continued support this term. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
