We’ve had a fantastic start to the term, diving into exciting learning across all subjects!
In Science, we’ve been investigating dissolving and exploring which materials are soluble or insoluble. The children have enjoyed hands-on experiments and are now looking forward to our next topic: Space—a journey through the solar system awaits!
In English, we’ve been captivated by The Highwayman and have used this dramatic poem to inspire our own descriptive narratives, incorporating speech and vivid imagery to bring our writing to life.
In Maths, we’re building confidence with written methods for multiplication and division, including multiplying larger numbers and tackling calculations involving two-digit numbers. It’s been great to see the children’s problem-solving skills developing as we challenge ourselves with a range of questions.
In Computing, we’ve started using Google Drawings to create vector drawings—digital artwork made with lines and shapes. This has been a brilliant way to combine creativity with technology. We have enjoyed learning about all of the different tools and ways to make each vector drawing unique.
Our learning about the local area and Street’s heritage has continued following our brilliant heritage walk before half term. All of the staff were extremely proud of the behaviour and engagement shown by the children on our trip. We discovered fascinating facts about the Clarks family, explored local landmarks, and even learned about some of the treasures held in the Alfred Gillett archives.
In French, we’ve been practising new phrases all about food, drink, and healthy eating—both speaking and writing in French to build our vocabulary and confidence.
It’s been a busy and inspiring start to the term, and we’re excited for all the learning and adventures still to come!
