Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn Term.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at parents evening last term, we enjoyed having the chance to share with you how happy we are with the children’s progress in such a short time.

We had a very busy term with lots of practical maths focusing on having a deep understanding of numbers under 10 and looking at addition calculations. This term we will be looking at subtraction and beginning to look at 2D and 3D shapes.

Within English we spent a long time looking at the book You Choose. We wrote simple sentences, learnt about using adjectives to describe objects and also began using the word and to extend our sentences. So far this term we have discovered a crime scene within our classrooms so we are rather busy trying to solve a mystery that we think involves the gingerbread man.

Last term we had a great time learning how to bake bread and then making jam sandwiches. We had to write instructions to go with the sandwiches and discovered you need to be quite precise otherwise people make mistakes!

We have discovered how to use a program on the iPads that we can type and paint on, so far we have just learnt the basics but over the next term we will be looking at how to use more features to create paintings.
