We’ve reached the end of our first half-term in Year 4, and what a fantastic start it’s been! In DT, we had a great time cooking fishcakes and learning all about food hygiene. We developed key skills like mashing and cutting and made sure to work safely and efficiently in the kitchen!
In French, we’ve been discussing how we travel to school – perfect timing as it ties in with Cycle to School Week! We’ve learned some useful vocabulary to help us talk about different ways of getting to school, from walking to cycling.
Finally, we shared our non-chronological reports on dung beetles with Year 3. We had fun sharing our “professional poo eaters” reports, complete with titles, subheadings, and all the essential features of non-chronological writing.
Fun fact: Some dung beetles can bury dung that’s over 200 times their own weight—that’s like a human moving a double-decker bus!
It’s been a busy and exciting half-term, and we can’t wait for what’s ahead in the next one!
