Year 4 – End of Spring Term 1 update

What a wonderful and busy first half of the Spring term we have had in Year 4!

A real highlight was our Sharing Assembly, where the children proudly showcased their learning from across the year so far. It was lovely to see them holding up their books, sharing pieces of work, and talking confidently about what they have achieved. Thank you to all the families who were able to come along and support the children. Your presence made the occasion feel even more special.

This week, we also took part in Children’s Mental Health Week. As part of our celebrations, each child designed a unique square reflecting the things they enjoy and the qualities that make them who they are. These squares were then combined into a beautiful collage, representing our individuality as well as our sense of community. It has made a wonderful display and reminded us all just how important it is to celebrate what makes us unique.

In Science, we explored the water cycle through hands‑on investigation. The children created their own mini models using sandwich bags, water, and food colouring, clearly labelling the processes of evaporation, condensation and precipitation. Watching the cycle happen inside their bags helped bring the concept to life, and the children made some fantastic scientific observations.

The children have worked incredibly hard this half term and demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, and curiosity in everything they do.

We wish everyone a restful and enjoyable half‑term break and look forward to another exciting half term ahead!
