It’s hard to believe the children have already completed their very first term in Early Years! What an exciting and busy time it has been. We are so proud of all their hard work and achievements. The children have learned all the Phase 2 phonics sounds and tricky words and have now begun Phase 3—such fantastic progress! If you would like a copy of these sounds and words to practise at home, simply email the Academy Office, and we’ll be happy to send them to you.

Throughout the term, we have shared lots of wonderful stories, learned many songs and fascinating facts, and even explored rhyming words. In maths, we have focused in depth on numbers up to 5, building strong foundations for future learning. In our skills lessons the children have explored a diverse range of topics: identifying individuals who are special to us, comparing old and new toys in History, studying our local environment in Geography, engaging with music, utilising the junk modelling and much more.

All of this came together beautifully in our amazing Christmas performance of ‘Baarmy Bethlehem’—what a fantastic way to celebrate the end of term!

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and a wonderful break. We can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
