In English, we have been continuing with our focus on Roald Dahl, thinking about character descriptions and planning tricks.

During Math’s, we have looked closely at place value and the patterns of numbers on a 100 square, 1 and 10 more and less and transitions to the next 100. During science we have been learning about bones and muscles, how they work together and the purpose of both.

During Art this term we had a particular focus on the artist Frida Kahlo. We began by researching who she was and found out facts about her life. She was from Mexico and loved to paint self-portraits.

We looked at many of her self portraits and noticed that she would use bold colours, the backgrounds were filled with nature, animals or flowers.

This inspired us to create our own portrait in the style of Frida.

Here are some of Gopher’s own.

Quite the artists wouldn’t you say? 🙂
