WOW! What a fantastic return to school we have all made!

In Maths we have begun to look at fractions and the fact that they are part of the whole. If we cut a pizza into two pieces we would end up with half, if we cut a pizza into quarters, we would end up with four equal pieces. Can you work out how many equal pieces we would get if we cut a pizza into thirds?

In English we met a gruesome, terrifying pirate, who needs to be captured! It was our job to describe him in as much detail as possible so everyone would know exactly what to look for. Can you remember some of the parts that made up our disgusting character?

We have continued to create our wonderful puppets – sewing carefully around our costumes and painting a base colour onto our puppet heads. We cannot wait for you to see our final products!

In PSHE, we discussed the ‘Learning Line’ and how when we come across a new task or we need to learn a new skill, this can sometimes we very tricky and we want to give up. This is when we fall into the ‘pit’. However, we have begun to recognise that with a dash of determination, a pinch of perseverance and an endless supply of encouragement we can climb back up out and achieve our new goal!

This term, computing and music have combined to create one awesome project. This week we began by listening to pieces of music called The Planets, composed by Gustav Holst. We discussed, compared and described three of them. Can you remember what they were? Which was your favourite? I wonder if you could listen to a different planet… what do you think of that piece?
