Year 5 have had an amazing two weeks. In science, we have been investigating the effect of air resistance. We created three different sized parachutes and tested them, by dropping each one three times to see which was affected most by air resistance. The most challenging part was finding the average of our drop times! The children were then challenged to pick the parachute that they thought would have the best chance of transporting an egg astronaut from the classroom window to the floor below, without it cracking. We had 3 successes and 3 casualties.

Challenge has been the name of the game in Year 5. Children were tasked with using their Crumble controllers, in computing, to create a working carousel. Some of the results were amazing, although, some of the rides would have been pretty fast and wild!

We were very pleased to take part in the French activity afternoon, where we enjoyed a range of different opportunities. Children enjoyed, art, mapping, board games, dance, books, Simon says, four in a row and trying some traditional French food. We weren’t able to take part in all of the activities but thoroughly enjoyed the ones that we did.
