A busy start to January 2023!

What a busy January we have had in Jaguars!

In English we have been using our imaginations to think of stories all by ourselves just from a picture prompt, this is very difficult but we did really well. When writing these stories we had to try and remember capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and adjectives! What a lot of work!

In Maths we have been learning about numbers up to 20 and getting to know them really well. We have done lots of counting forwards and backwards and starting from a random number like 12. We also looked at putting numbers in order and comparing them using the symbols < and >.

In our afternoons we have started a new Art project looking at a man called Peter Carl Faberge who made very expensive and extravagant eggs. We designed our own Faberge eggs and are now in the process of creating our own with different media. So far we have used salt dough and the first layer of papier mache. We are loving doing this and can’t wait to continue!

Alongside this we have also learnt about the different groups of animals such as mammals and amphibians and tried to learn facts about each group. We have also been exploring our programming skills using the BeeBots.
