Last week in Early Years we were learning all about ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. The children enjoyed sequencing the story and learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly, even using playdough to represent an egg, a caterpillar, the chrysalis and a butterfly.

The children also enjoyed making symmetrical butterfly prints using paint.

In maths the children practiced their number formation, showing one more and one less than a number up to 10 and addition using a part-part whole model.

In our Knowledge and Skills lesson, the children learned about New Year’s resolutions and made their own resolutions. They also made a repeating pattern caterpillar using cotton reels with red and green paint. They learned all about animal habitats and enjoyed going on a bug hunt around the playground with Mrs Savva.
