Welcome to Jaguars class page!

It is hard to believe we are already in November, the children have enjoyed so many different activities since September.

Recently in Maths we have been looking at adding and taking away. We started using concrete objects like cubes before moving on to drawing images to help us. Some of us moved on to learning about fact families, this was really tricky and we all tried very hard!

A fact family is like this

3 + 4 = 7

4 + 3 = 7

7 – 3 = 4

7 – 4 = 3

Since the children have been in Year One we have worked hard on building there independence when writing and they are doing very well. Most of the children can now use finger spaces, full stops and capital letters independently. We are all also trying hard to include adjectives in our sentences.

Alongside all of this important learning we have also enjoyed learning about primary and secondary colours and improving our painting skills within Art. We have learnt lots about different countries in our Geography lessons and have recently started talking about old toys in our History lessons. There has been lots of giggles over the fact Mrs Clist is old enough not to have had lots of electronic toys when she was little! In our Science lessons we have been discovering the differences between the seasons and taking part in lots of exciting experiments.
