Ladybirds
Welcome to a Day in the Life of the Ladybirds (2–3 Years)
As your child moves from the baby room into the Ladybirds, they enter an exciting stage of growing independence and exploration. In this environment, children are supported to develop confidence, build new skills, and enjoy a wider range of activities that reflect their emerging curiosity and coordination.
During this stage, children begin to make more independent choices, showing an increased ability to select resources, engage in play, and form early friendships. With the warm and attentive support of our toddler team, your child’s sense of self continues to develop, and their ability to communicate becomes more expressive. Many children experience a rapid expansion in language at this age, growing a lively vocabulary as they share their thoughts, ideas, and discoveries.
Our Ladybirds team provides a nurturing, structured, and engaging space where children are encouraged to explore, interact, and learn at their own pace, helping them take important steps in their social, emotional, and developmental journey.

Progression Milestones
To support each child’s learning journey, we use our Progression Milestones alongside the EYFS curriculum. These milestones help us understand where your child is in their development, celebrate what they can already do, and plan meaningful next steps.
They give our team a clear picture of each child’s progress, ensuring learning is tailored, responsive, and developmentally appropriate. Parents can also view each room’s overview to see how learning develops across the ages.
