Brookside Academy are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support the learning in the Primary classrooms on a permanent basis.
The primary role of the teaching assistant is to work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
The ideal candidate for this role will want to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your position within these.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and dedicated team and to play a key role in the further development of this provision at our inclusive academy.

The Role
As part of our team, you’ll be responsible for a small group of key children who you will observe, assess and plan for. You’ll provide high-quality care, learning experiences and support our child-centred approach, working closely with families, and ensuring that our setting remains a safe, fun and enriching. Key responsibilities include:
- To plan and deliver age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework
- Supporting children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development through play
- Keeping clear records of children’s progress and learning journeys
- Promoting positive behaviour and self-esteem
- Working closely with parents/carers to build strong home-nursery relationships
- Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards at all times
What we’re looking for
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in an early years setting
- A good standard of literacy, numeracy, and written communication

Our cleaners are an essential part of our team, enabling our students to learn and achieve in a clean and safe environment.
We are looking for reliable, conscientious people, able to be flexible and work as part of a team on a part-time basis. The core working hours for this role will fall in line term-time. The role involves ensuring the Academy is cleaned to the highest standards, meeting health and safety requirements.
You will be working as part of our large friendly cleaning team, who work together in order to achieve the best results. You will be provided with all the support that you require to carry out your role effectively.
