Somerset School Games
Futsal County Finals
It was great to take part in the Somerset School Games at Millfield School and the Year 5 Futsal Team produced a series of fantastic performances to finish in 3rd place.
Somerset County Finals
We had a great day today at Tor Rugby Club competing against all the other area winners from around Somerset. The standard of rugby was very high and we enjoyed testing our skills against such tough opposition. A big well done to all who took part.
A big well done to the school football team who have been crowned champions of the Sporting World Street and Glastonbury Football League. They have remained unbeaten all season scoring 28 goals and conceding just 5.
Congratulations to all the players who have worked so hard throughout the season and a big thank you to all the parents who have supported the team.

Tag Rugby at Butleigh
Our Tag Rugby players made a fantastic start to the Sporting Year winning the Tag Rugby competition held at Butleigh Primary School to mark the World Cup coming to England.
Several local schools took part in the event and it was fantastic to see our team rise to the challenge and come away victorious against some excellent rugby playing schools.
Visit to Twickenham
On Wednesday an excited group of Year 5 and 6 children visited Rugby HQ. It was a fantastic day which started at 7am. On arrival we were instantly hit by the size of the magnificent 82,600 seater stadium.
We began our visit looking through the engaging and interactive rugby museum. We learnt all about the history of rugby including rugby through the war, the rugby world cup and lots lots more.
After the museum we went to the top of the stadium and entered one of the executive boxes. Here we began a workshop looking at the key physical characteristics of each rugby position.
We finished our visit with a tour of the stadium. This included the Royal Box, going pitchside, the changing rooms and walking through the tunnel.
Somerset v Sussex
A fantastic day was had at the County Ground watching the 3rd day of the County Championship match between Somerset and Sussex. As well as watching the match we also enjoyed taking part in a series of coaching sessions in the Centre of Excellence and learning about how a cricket bat is made.
Lots of the children have been enjoying end of season awards from their various football teams. A big well done to :
George Groves - Most improved player of the year.
Reuben Poggiali - Managers player of the year.
Kieran Hamilton-Knight - Players player of the year.
Korey Mitchell - Managers player of the year.
Josh Leavy - Players player of the year.
Ethan Difford - Team player of the year.
Well done Libby
A big well done to Libby Pole (Year 5) for winning the Outstanding Performer award at the recent Bristol Academy awards evening.
Chance to Shine Cricket
A mixture of year 4 and 5 children enjoyed a coaching session delivered by Matt Shawcross from Glastonbury Cricket Club this morning. These sessions will be running every Monday for the first half of the Summer term.
It has been a fantastic season with lots of new Personal Bests. Those competing have done so with great effort and have represented the school in an admirable way. The final results can be found at the link below.
A big thank you to all the support the children have received at each of the races.
