Below is some information that you might find useful.
Spellings are sent home weekly on either a Tuesday or Wednesday. Your child will know which level they are working on and there is additional information on the rule if you wish to give further support at home. In school we teach the spelling rule as part of our English lessons and in isolated spelling lessons.
They will be tested every Monday
Spellings will get progressively harder as the year goes on.
We ask that each child reads a minimum of 3 times per week. If they are a confident reader it is not necessary for them to always read to an adult. Their reading records are checked every Monday and they will receive a house point for every 3 reading sessions recorded in their books.
By the end of Year 4 the expectation is that all children can rapidly recall multiplication and corresponding division facts for times tables up to 12 X 12.
In class we are focusing on our 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 times tables.
All children have a TT Rockstars log on which allows them to practise at home in a fun and interactive way. They will be tested every Wednesday in a 3 minute test.
Sports will be every Monday afternoon and Year 4 will swim every Friday morning in Spring Term.
Please bring in a fresh labelled water bottle every morning.
A healthy snack really helps your child with their learning and concentration, so please send one in each day. Alternatively, your child can purchase a snack through the canteen via your parent pay account.
Break times will be at 10.35am until 10.50am.
Lunch times will be at 12.30pm until 1.30pm.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's needs please do not hesitate to contact us either at the end of the day or via the office and arrange an appointment.
